Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day! Hope you have had a nice day even though Jim is not there with you. Emma got to experience her first Valentine's Day at the preschool and we had to make cards for all her classmates. Since it was my first, I didn't know what goes into doing the cards and all, so I now know for next year that the kids do not have to write the cards on their own and a piece of candy ought to be attached with the cards... I sat with Emma and spent an hour trying to keep her focused on writing her name on all 15 cards. And then had to deal with the fact that she couldn't write all four letters of her name on the space provided (which for the record, is not a lot of room for a 3-year old learning to write her name). So, her E-M-M-A were all over the cards!!! Sometimes she would feel like writing the letters backwards and sometimes she would want to start over on a letter, so there were more than 4 letters on some of the cards... Oh well... Just another thing to tuck into my pocket for next year. Eric got a heart balloon from the daycare; Bila bought balloons for all the kids there. So he and Emma are "sharing" the balloon... Since the kids love to color after breakfast on the weekends, I thought it would be a great time to get them to "make" a card for Dave for Valentine's Day. Of course, of all weekends, they decide today that they didn't want to color a card for Daddy, so there was no card for Daddy when he woke up... Sigh... It's the thought that counts, right? Abby got a rawhide... :-) So, that's all from here for now... As I wrote before, I hope you don't mind kiddie updates...

The weather got cooler from our little warm spell, which is nice. I think the sand will take forever to disappear from the Circle. I haven't seen the foxes that Anna wrote about, but I'm sure Abby has been sniffing around the area as well.

Take care! Hope to write more later!

Susie
